The 11th Nigeria Women Award 2022: Report by Emmanuella Edun-Adedeji






 

It was heights of euphoria at the 11th Nigeria Women Award which was held at the Ikeja Center of the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 10-12-22.

It was hosted by the auspicious Women in Media and Candy factory Production... With Princess Lilian Odumosu as the convener/host.

The event saw a potpourri of personalities from notable walks of life.

The theme of the event was: The burden of Nigeria's leadership and Economic template.

Dr. Olusegun Musa was the chairman of the day and he also presented some awards.

 The guest speaker of the event was Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's party but was powerfully represented by his Vice presidential candidate, the charismatic, amiable and eloquent Bishop Isaac Idahosa, who also played host to a question and answer session and presented  awards to some of the awardees.

 Her Excellency Mrs Betty Akeredolu, the first lady of Ondo state was ably represented by the honourable commissioner for women affairs and social development Mrs Titlola Adeyemi.

The Commissioner gave a brief but thought provoking lecture that bordered around giving women a chance in all spheres of male dominated activities.

 The event enjoyed the presence of notable personalities: Ace broadcaster Bimbo Oloyede, Chief Temitope Ajayi(Mama Diaspora)... celebrities and dignitaries innumerably gathered.

Dame Julie Coker, Chief Mrs. Ibidun Allison, Queen Ayo Balogun, Barr. Mrs Chinwe Efobi, Chief. Mrs E. Ichofu, Mrs Jiire Kuforiji were some of the awardees amongst others.

Ambassador Cornell Udofia, president and founder of the CMC of great repute fame was the coordinator of the event.

Indeed, it was a mix of merriment, socializing and sober reflecting.
